Aim of the Course:
With updates in current health and safety legislation arriving continually it is sometimes difficult to keep yourself and your staff abreast of changes. In 1998 an amended version of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations came into force and as part of these new regulations the Abrasive Wheels Regulations were revoked. This course will cover the updates and will go through the requirements necessary for an operative to be classed as competent to mount, use and change abrasive wheels.

Back injuries are still one of the most common lost time injuries at work and as a result employers must look to give all employees training, information and instruction in correct lifting techniques. Until recently cardiac defibrillation has been a specialist resuscitation skill confined to medical personnel. Technological advances have resulted in the production of a new generation of defibrillators, which are semi-automatic. In consequence non-medically trained personnel are able to deliver controlled electric shocks to patients in cardiac arrest.
